Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Seraj Ahmad Quraishi Founder and National President of the Indian Journalist Association®, a leading organization continuously fighting for the interests of journalists globally, has announced the immediate dissolution of the Bihar State Unit, giving top priority to organizational strength, activism, and discipline. This decision was taken after detailed discussions with the National Core Committee and founding members.

In a press release, National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi stated that the Bihar State Unit has been completely inactive since 2024. Most state-level officials have not accepted membership, nor have any state-level meetings, training programs, membership drives, or any significant programs related to journalistic interests been organized. Furthermore, the expected activism has not been demonstrated in expanding the organization, addressing journalists' problems, and organizational activities.

He stated that the Indian Journalist Association is a disciplined, active, and dedicated organization dedicated to the interests of journalists. Merely holding a position in the organization is not enough; instead, it is the responsibility of every office-bearer to realize the organization's objectives, fight for the protection of journalists' rights, and play an active role in strengthening the organization. Inactivity and neglect of organizational responsibilities will not be tolerated at any level.

Considering these circumstances, the national leadership has decided to dissolve the Bihar State Unit with immediate effect. It was also clarified that an organization meeting will be held soon in Bihar to form a new, active, and robust State Executive. The new State Team will include dedicated, hardworking, and active journalists who are committed to working in accordance with the organization's ideology and objectives.

The National President also announced that to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization until the formation of the new State Executive, outgoing State Vice President Mr. Mithilesh Kumar (Nawada) has been appointed as the Acting State President of Bihar. During the interim period, he will lead the organization's expansion, membership drive, reorganization of district units, communication with journalists, and the formation of the new State Executive.

Seraj Ahmad Quraishi called upon all journalist colleagues of Bihar to come together to make the organization stronger and actively contribute to strengthening the objectives of journalist interests, journalist protection law, unbiased journalism and organizational unity. He expressed confidence that after the formation of the new state team, the organization will function in a stronger, more active and effective manner in Bihar and will take forward the fight for the respect, security and rights of journalists with greater strength.

This information was given through an official press release issued by Founder and National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi.
