Indian Journalist Association ® 16th Foundation Day was celebrated with great pomp at the National Administrative Office, Ghazi Roza Tiraha, Gorakhpur.

At the beginning of the program, journalists cut the cake and fed each other and congratulated each other.

It is known that Indian Journalist Association, a leading organization constantly struggling for the interests of world-class journalists, was formed on 5 September 2008 and registered under the Society Act, then also registered under Trust Act, Niti Aayog, NGO Darpan, MSME, ISO and IAF.

Addressing the journalists present, National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi said that the Indian Journalist Association has fought for and resolved various incidents of harassment and problems of journalists. By uniting journalists from different provinces of the country and forming units at block, tehsil, city, district, division, state and national level, it has created its identity as a conscious, active, strong and struggling journalist organization.

The main objective of the Indian Journalist Association is to protect the interests of journalists and to get justice to the victimised journalists. In the present times, organizational loyalty is essential. Unless we remain united, we will not succeed in fulfilling the objectives of the organization and the interests of journalists. In such a situation, we need to be dutiful towards the organization.

The association is constantly struggling for journalist protection law from the central government, tax exemption for journalists at toll plazas, creation of journalist constituencies like teacher constituencies, advertisements to small newspapers, assessment of circulation of newspapers by government agencies, giving RNI number by making a standard for digital media and YouTube news channels, eligibility of Bachelor of Journalism or equivalent degree for doing journalism, not registering fake cases against journalists without investigation, compliance by the police of the orders given by the DGP, creation of funds and corpus to help all journalists in accidental accidents, pension, housing, medical facilities to all journalists, giving priority to their children in education, arms license to insecure journalists, keeping a record of all journalists by creating a National Digital Media Directory, etc. The Indian Journalist Association has been honoured with various awards and certificates in India and abroad. This is a proof that the association is selflessly working for journalism, journalists and all sections of society. The association is and will continue to work for progress and development for nation building. The contribution made by the Indian Journalist Association for journalism, journalists and society can never be forgotten.

On this occasion, National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi, National General Secretary Mohammad Irfanullah Khan and Giriraj Singh, State Treasurer Purvanchal Naved Alam, Divisional Secretary Gorakhpur Dr. Ateeq Ahmad, Mohammad Azam, Zuber Alam, Akhilesh Dhar Dwivedi, Meraj Ahmad, Dr. Ved Prakash Nishad, Sunil Kumar Bharti, Ramashankar Gupta, Satish Mani Tripathi etc. were present.
