NCERT Class 8 Social Science Book Under Question

Jaipur. K.C. Ghumariya, State President of the All India Tribal Development Council, has raised serious concerns over the Class 8 Social Science textbook published by NCERT. He stated that the map of the Maratha Empire shown in the book is historically inaccurate. The map depicts the entire state of Rajasthan under Maratha rule, which, according to him, is completely false. "The Marathas never even managed to enter Rajasthan," Ghumariya asserted in a statement. He further alleged that individuals influenced by a BJP-oriented mindset are attempting to distort the valiant history of Rajasthan. He pointed out that this misleading information was added in the new edition of the NCERT textbook, published in July 2025. Ghumariya demanded immediate intervention by the central government to remove the distorted content. "We will not allow our history to be distorted at any cost," he declared.
